“How Freedom Works” is unique because it has a “cast of dozens”. One classroom of kids get to be part of the show. We do a workshop with them right before the assembly.
Leslie is an idea that wants to become a law. The workshop kids are the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. After getting voted down many different ways, Leslie finally becomes a law.
In another part of the show some of the workshop kids become a series of presidents who meet disastrous ends to illustrate the Order of Presidential Succession.
The show ends with a humorous American History quiz. For example:
Jay: Where did they sign the Declaration of Independence?
Leslie: At the bottom. |
