Audience: Grades K-6

Program Length: 45 minutes

Curriculum Objectives: Atoms, Molecules, Ozone Depletion, Carbon Dioxide Cycle, Global Warming, the Water Cycle, Recycling

There are dangers to our environment, and we all need to know more about the science behind those dangers. In this lively, engaging progrmas students have so much fun they don’t even realize how much science they are learning.

We use juggling balls to illustrate how atoms combine to make molecules. We show how the molecule ozone helps protect us from the ultraviolet rays of the sun, and how CFCs threaten that protection.

We examine the carbon dioxide cycle and how the buildup of greenhouse gasses can cause global warming. Leslie explains the water cycle with the assistance of Jay and two audience volunteers. She has Jay running in exhausting circles.

“Juggling the Earth’s Resources” concludes with a lively and fun introduction to recycling.
