Read It Right Now

Audience: Grades K-6
Program Length: 45 minutes
Curriculum Objectives: Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Rhymes, Synonyms, Antonyms, Homophones, and Storytelling
"Read It Right Now" begins with a mime alphabet. Jay performs mime illusions from A (for arrow) to Z (for zipper).
Then Jay does a three box juggling manipulation with letters on the boxes so the kids can read the answers to Leslie’s riddles.
Next is a magic trick using four magic bags and words on pieces of fabric. A word goes into a bag and is magically transformed into a rhyming word, a synonym, an antonym, or a homophone. Through many steps we get from the word "HAT" to the word "RABBIT". The show ends with improvised stories based on nouns, verbs, and adjectives suggested by the students.
